Diplomacy is Not an Option is a real-time strategy game developed by Door 407. You take control of a lord responsible for a struggling kingdom where rebellion, economic problems, and supernatural threats make peaceful solutions impossible. Your task is to develop a settlement, protect its population, and prepare for battles against overwhelming enemy forces.
Building a strong army requires more than recruiting soldiers. You must gather resources, expand production, maintain food supplies, construct walls and defensive towers, and position units carefully. Combat involves large numbers of troops, siege weapons, and physics-based projectiles, so your fortifications and battlefield tactics can determine whether your settlement survives.
The game offers a story campaign alongside Endless, Challenge, and Sandbox modes. You can also create custom scenarios with the map editor, giving you alternatives to the main campaign. Managing the economy while preparing for increasingly dangerous attacks is central to the experience.
